Well it's all right

The Traveling Wilburys, with:

George Harrison
Jeff Lynne
Roy Orbison
Tom Petty

End Of The Line by Traveling Wilburys on Grooveshark

End of the Line

Well it's all right, riding around in the breeze
Well it's all right, if you live the life you please
Well it's all right, doing the best you can
Well it's all right, as long as you lend a hand

You can sit around and wait for the phone to ring
Waiting for someone to tell you everything
Sit around and wonder what tomorrow will bring
Maybe a diamond ring

Well it's all right, even if they say you're wrong
Well it's all right, sometimes you gotta be strong
Well it's all right, As long as you got somewhere to lay
Well it's all right, everyday is Judgement Day

Maybe somewhere down the road aways
You'll think of me, and wonder where I am these days
Maybe somewhere down the road when somebody plays
Purple haze

Well it's all right, even when push comes to shove
Well it's all right, if you got someone to love
Well it's all right, everything'll work out fine
Well it's all right, we're going to the end of the line

Don't have to be ashamed of the car I drive
I'm just glad to be here, happy to be alive
It don't matter if you're by my side
I'm satisfied

Well it's all right, even if you're old and grey
Well it's all right, you still got something to say
Well it's all right, remember to live and let live
Well it's all right, the best you can do is forgive

Well it's all right, riding around in the breeze
Well it's all right, if you live the life you please
Well it's all right, even if the sun don't shine
Well it's all right, we're going to the end of the line

  1. Always one of my favorites, Ruth. Aging gracefully seems to require a belief structure, even if it's as simple as 'all you need is love'--there is a place where both rationalism and cynicism become inadequate.

    1. Hedge, thanks for recognizing the spirit behind posting this song.

It's one of my favorites too. There's something incredibly touching about the Traveling Wilburys, with Orbison being the senior member harkening back to the 50s, and those great friends collaborating out of both American and British rock and folk.

  2. Love those Traveling Wilburys! Always my favorite road music. Approaching the "end of the line"--and we are nowhere close to that--is easier with songs like this (oh, Orbison's tenor!) and most particularly, with friends like you.

    1. ds, I love that you said it that way, because yes it's friendship and love that gets us through all hardships. And the language of the heart, music, in this friendship band, is just too cool! xo

  3. "Well it's all right, we're going to the end of the line"....so "let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us".

One of my fav albums. Thanks!

    1. Gnome, yes it's so like that verse in Hebrews, isn't it?

Such a great album, with voices of musicians so familiar they feel like friends!

  5. Wasn't Bob Dylan also one of the Wilburys? A nice, not long lasting group! :-)

    1. Peter, yes! Dylan was one of the Traveling Wilburys, but not in this song. :-)
